Founder and CEO
Sebastian Nye-Schmitz was born in Germany and moved to the United States nearly 25 years ago. He is happily married and has three beautiful children. He is a Certified Public Accountant and an Attorney at Law, licensed in the State of Florida.
When he was working in tax compliance as a CPA, he focused on the application of the Double Tax Treaty with German-speaking countries. He then transitioned to controversy, and has thereby dramatically increased his areas of practice to include all levels of controversy and representation of clients during audits, appeals, and establish of collection alternatives. Because of his background, his areas of interest include domestic and international tax compliance, audits and appeals.
One of his strengths is that he is bilingual with significant exposure to European culture, allowing him to not only bridge the language gap with German speaking clients but also the cultural one.
He graduated Cum Laude from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2004, followed by a Master of Science Degree in Accounting & Taxation from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2005.
In 2007, he finished all the requirements for becoming a Certified Public Accountant, received his license and started his own CPA firm.
In 2009, he started attending Ave Maria School of Law and in 2010, he started working as a legal intern at a boutique tax law firm in Naples. In 2012, he graduated with a Juris Doctor degree and passed the Florida Bar Exam and promptly started working as an Associate Attorney for the same tax law firm.
In the Fall of 2013, he decided to bring his knowledge and skills to bear on problems that more closely resembled his area of interest and decided to start his own practice.
